project which focuses on the former Smyth & Co., textile factory
in Balbriggan. Martina began extensive research into the
history of the factory including conversations with former
workers at Smyth & Co. She came across an old photograph of
the town showing a bridge linking two parts of the factory above
Railway Street. The artist then decided to re-create the Fingal Development
memory of the factory by attempting to rebuild that bridge
using silk and hand sewn bead work, following patterns and Plan – TIME TO HAVE
