Thedivingteamhasseenitsnumbersgrowthepastfouryears
underHersheyandhascontinuedtoshowmarkedimprovement,
highlightedwithnumeroustopfinishesinone-andthree-meter
divingeventsduringthe2008-09season.Additionally,freshman
ElizabethRicebecamethefirstSienadiverinprogramhistory
tobenamedaMAACDiveroftheWeek,anhonorsheearned
twiceduringthe2008-09seasonunderHershey’stutelage.
Hershey,anativeofNeedham,Mass.wasaNYSWCAAAll-
AcademicTeamselectionfrom2003-05atRPI.Shewasalso
afour-timeAll-American,a2005ESPNAcademicAll-District
HonorsNominee,RPI’sSwimmingandDivingMVPin2005,
DiveroftheYearin2003and2004andwastheswimming
anddivingRookieoftheYearin2002.HersheyalsoledRPI
tothe2005NYSWCAAConferenceChampionships,where
shecapturedthegoldmedal.In2003and2004,RPIwonthe
silvermedal.
PriortoherappointmentatSiena,Hersheyservedasassistant
divingcoachatRPI.Herresponsibilitiesrangedfromplanning
andrunningpracticesandcoachingdiversontheirtraining
trips.Hershey’scoachingtenureatRPIbeganalmostimmedi-
atelyfollowingtheconclusionofhercollegiateplayingcareer
inAugust2005.
Asastudent-athlete,HersheywasamemberoftheStudent
AthleticAdvisoryCommittee(SAAC)andwastheco-captainof
RPI’sswimminganddivingteam.
