New waterparks and attractions for 2009
Ahead of this month’s World Waterpark Association Symposium & Trade Show at Walt
Disney World, Park World takes a quick look at new parks, projects and products
making a splash in 2009
New park
Sanatorium Zapolarie
The Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi will, in five years’ time, host
the Winter Olympics. This summer, however, holidaymakers have
been able to enjoy a much warmer way to have fun.
The new Sanatorium Zapolarie was fitted out by the Spanish
supplier Action Park and includes a slide package including a
Hyrdrotube/giant slide, 150-metre linear slides and three kids’
slides. Theming includes rock work by SB Pools and animals and
other scenic elements by Action Park itself. Construction was
completed in just three months, ready for a June 18 opening.
