team) including the penalty kick that beat Fairfield during the
regular season.
“Tabby and Cara work well together,” said Karbowski. “They
have a great combination of technical ability, defensive respon-
sibility and decision making.”
Lindsay Tegas is an attack-minded outside midfielder with
great pace. She was fourth on the team with 11 points, and
every goal she scored seemed to be an important one.
“Lindsay has a great fitness level and scored some big goals
for us,” said Karbowski. She scored the first goal in wins over
Vermont and Long Island, the deciding goal at Niagara, and
tied the game 1-1 against Loyola with the regular-season
championship on the line.
Riley, Tice and Tegas started all 19 games together last season.
Vying for time at outside midfield will be junior Susan Schneck
and sophomores Kaitlyn Sharo and Jill Roth. Schneck
played in 18 games last year, registering nine shots.
“She’s a junior who’s played a lot of minutes for us the past
two seasons,” said Karbowski. “She should compete for time
at outside mid.”
Sharo appeared in three games and Roth played in five as
freshmen. Both played well during the spring and should
compete for playing time.
Senior Marissa Shibley enters her second season after
transferring in from Stony Brook. She added depth to the mid-
field last season, playing in 16 games and notching two assists.
Freshmen Michelle Baj and Nicole Daly will add depth to the
already strong midfield. Baj is a versatile player who could see
time at center mid, outside mid or back. Daly scored 39 goals
and had 31 assists in her five-year high school career. She
earned All-State honors twice for New Hyde Park Memorial.

Sophomore Shannon Clancy had an impressive spring and
