MD Golf has extended its line of Superstrong woods for 2010 with a pair
of ‘Fairway Finders’
MD Golf has added a pair of clubs it calls the ‘Fairway Finders’ to its Superstrong
line of woods for 2010. The new clubs are designed to fill the gap between 3-
wood and driver.
The 13° Brassie and 15° Spoon both have deeper clubfaces than the other
Superstrong fairway woods, and they have been designed with two distinct golfers
in mind: firstly, the army of higher handicappers who struggle to find consistency
with the driver, yet gain too much height and insufficient distance with their 3-
wood off the tee; and secondly, for better players who want to improve their
accuracy off the tee on tight holes, while sacrificing only minimal distance. MD
Golf claims that the better player might also like to take a Fairway Finder off the
deck when trying to reach long par-fives in two.
Other changes to MD Golf’s Superstrong woods for 2010 include a modified face
progression on the driver, with a view to ensuring the club sits perfectly square at
address. The clubface on the fairway woods has also been shortened, which has
allowed MD Golf to widen the clubheads to raise the MOI. The 2010 hybrid comes
with a slightly deeper clubface and an extra 1.5mm of offset.
The new 2010 range from MD Golf will be on display at Golf Europe in Munich,
September 27-29.
