officers enrolled in SBP after receiving their Notifica-
tion of Eligibility for Retired Pay letter, SBP costs aren’t
withheld until retired pay starts. For most reserve of-
ficers, that was at age 60. If you are enrolled in SBP, are
at least 70 years old, and have paid premiums for 360
months, you’re eligible for paid-up SBP. If you think you
are eligible and suspect your retired pay center has not
correctly calculated your status, you can dispute the
number of months by filing DD Form 2656-11 with your
pay center. The dispute period ends June 30, 2009.
