Saturday morning we all gathered for the actual Silverwood “experience”. The Silverwood Trophy
competition showcases the best North American bred Bull Terriers. Silverwood is divided into four classes,
Colored Dog, Colored Bitch, White Dog and White Bitch. There are three judges.
The judges for 2008 were Lynne Montgomery Myall, Claudia Sharp and Phil Brodeur. In the morning round
of competition two of the three judges are assigned to each class and they each make a “cut” without
comment to each other. These animals return to be judged again in the afternoon. Each class is judged
again by two judges who then may confer on the winners, with the third judge acting a referee if needed.
The “Final Four’ then compete for the coveted Silverwood trophy which can only be won once.
