Sun GlassFish Communications Server Administration and Deployment

Classroom Length: 4 Days

This 4-day workshop introduces you to various Sun GlassFish Communications Server concepts and functions ranging from introductory to advanced and provides you with hands-on experience via labs for configuring, administering, and deploying web applications, SIP applications, and converged applications on Communications Server. Based on Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), Sun GlassFish Communications Server is a converged application server that combines enterprise service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Web services capabilities with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) servlets. It harnesses GlassFish Enterprise Servers power and ease of use, coupling them with project SailFins SIP capabilities that comply with SIP Servlets Specifications 1.0 and 1.1. Through a combination of instructor-led modules and hands-on labs, you are introduced to Communications Server and the technologies that it supports. You learn to configure, administer, and deploy web applications, SIP applications, and converged applications and to enable various advanced Communications Server features, such as SIP session replication, clustering, rolling upgrade, converged load balancing, monitoring and logging, and security. Please note: This workshop does not cover Java EE or SIP development concepts. This topic is covered in other Sun courses. The hands-on labs offered in this course might involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered.

Sun GlassFish ESB for Implementers

Classroom Length: 3 Days

GlassFish Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is a lightweight and agile ESB platform that packages the innovation happening with Project Open ESB, the GlassFish application server, and the NetBeans IDE into a commercially supported, enterprise-class platform. This course emphasizes hands-on lab work to present the features, functionality, vocabulary and concepts of GlassFish ESB 2.1 for Implementers and Developers new to GlassFish ESB. LAB INFORMATION: The hands-on labs offered in this course involve accessing software installed on the students local machine.

Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server Administration and Deployment

Classroom Length: 4 Days

This 4-day workshop introduces you to various Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server (GlassFish) concepts and functions ranging from introductory to advanced and provides you with hands-on experience via remote labs for configuring, administering, and deploying web applications, EJB applications, and web services on GlassFish. Based on Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), GlassFish lets you deploy services ranging from simple web applications to enterprise-scale applications and web services including applications based on JavaServer Pages (JSP pages), JavaServer Faces, servlets, and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) technology. Through a combination of instructor-led modules and hands-on labs, you are introduced to the Developer, Cluster and Enterprise profiles. You learn to configure, administer, and deploy web applications, EJB applications, and web services on GlassFish using these profiles and to enable various advanced GlassFish features, such as in-memory replication, high availability database (HADB), load balancing, monitoring and logging, clustering, and security. For the most part, this workshop uses the term GlassFish v2 to cover both the open-source application server, GlassFish v2, and its commercial distribution, Sun Java System Application Server (Application Server) 9.1. In places where the discussion differs between the two distributions, the course refers specifically to either GlassFish v2 or Application Server 9.1. Please note: This workshop does not cover Java EE development concepts. This topic is covered in other Sun courses. The hands-on labs offered in this course might involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered.

Virtualization and Cloud Computing Concepts – Seminar

Classroom Length: 1 Day

This one-day seminar provides an overview of cloud computing, cloud architecture, and the virtualization technologies that enable the implementation of data applications in a cloud computing environment. The course also describes the benefits of using cloud technologies, such as increased agility and reduced capital expenditures, as well as issues to consider before transitioning to the cloud. The course features technology samples and demonstrations of a virtual datacenter, virtual machine images, virtual peripheral devices for persistence, and virtual storage appliances. Within a cloud environment, application components are installed and configured, and a Web 2.0 database application is deployed.

Virtualization and Cloud Computing Concepts Workshop

Classroom Length: 2 Days

This two-day workshop provides an overview of cloud computing, cloud architecture, and the virtualization technologies that enable the implementation of data applications in a cloud computing environment. The course also describes the benefits of using cloud technologies, suchas increased agility and reduced capital expenditures, as well as issues to consider before transitioning to the cloud. The course features technology samples, demonstrations, and hands-on labs that enable students to work with a virtual datacenter, virtual machine images, virtual peripheral devices for persistence, and virtual storage appliances. Within a cloud environment, application components are installed and configured, and a Web 2.0 database application is deployed.
