This poses the question: “how can I improve
my handling skills to receive first place the next
time?”
If not for dog shows I might not have obsessed
so much about being the best all of the time at
school. The sport of purebred dogs has enabled
me to take great passion into everything that
I do, and will carry me through in life with an
extraordinary education and successful job.
In the end, the best advice that I can give to
Juniors based on my past experiences, is to
relish the time spent with your dogs. The great
rapport one has with their dog in the ring is a
result of the great bonds that develop between
humans and dogs . If something doesn’t go your
way, don’t give up, remember all the great wins
and successes, and especially that some people
are not lucky enough to be able to compete in
such a great sport and spend time with their
dogs and learn such fantastic lessons that are
carried through every aspect of life.
At the end of the day, regardless of if you have
win or lost, a dog truly is ,
“man’s best friend”.
