The Greater Pittsburg Dalmatian Club Specialty

The Greater Pittsburgh Dalmatian Club’s 42nd Annual Specialty Show is now history, but what a
day it was! The show was held on Friday, June 19, 2009 in Waynesburg, Pa at the Greene County
Fairgrounds. We feel very fortunate to be able to hold our specialty in conjunction with the 4-day
Black Diamond Cluster offered at the same location.
Our club was able to offer both the Sweepstakes classes and Regular classes for conformation.
There were 36 dogs entered in the specialty show with a total of 54 entries for both Sweepstakes
and Regular classes. We would like to thank our conformation judges, Mr. Thomas Wrath for
judging the Sweepstakes classes and Mrs. Barbara Dempsey Alderman for judging the Regular
classes. Congratulations to the winners!

Our club always likes to extend a gracious complimentary lunch immediately following the

specialty show to give our exhibitors and their guests a warm welcome as well as catch up with
some old and new friends. Along with the lunch, our club has numerous Dalmatian-related items
for the raffle that we conduct as a fundraiser. The club would like to thank each and every
person who donated to our raffle, whether they donated items to be raffled or purchased tickets.
It’s always fun to see who wins the items - as a Dalmatian lover can never have too many spotted
items in their house!
We would also like to extend a “Great Job” to the club members who volunteered for the GPDC
Specialty Show Committee to help make the specialty happen:
Show Chairperson – Nancy Good, Show Secretary – Nancy Cummerick, Breed Ring Stewards
– LaDonna King and Cindy Kulikowski, Hospitality – LaDonna King and Nancy Cummerick,
and the Raffle – Jim and Kathy Wetzel as well as our other club members who donated their food,
