Vivaldi Ocean World
Master Blaster/AquaPlay
Located on the slopes of Mount Palbongsan, Ocean World is part of the Vivaldi
Park ski resort in South Korea. The Eygptian-themed waterpark recently completed
a 50,000 square metre expansion project when it opened a package of new
attractions from WhiteWater West.
Riders on Family Boomerango shoot up a wall, pause and then fall back into
the sensation of weightlessness as they transition over a hump and into a
splashdown pool below. Up to six riders at a time can enjoy the award-winning
attraction at a time sat inside large circular rafts.
The Master Blaster water coaster, meanwhile, is a gravity defying ride with drops
and curves to thrill riders of all ages. Completing the package of new additions is
a giant multi-level AquaPlay RainFortress featuring numerous interactive water
features, highlighted by two six-ton tipping buckets.
Big isn’t it? The giant
This is the third expansion for Ocean World since Vivaldi contracted WhiteWater
new AquaPlay structure
to install a family raft ride and some speed slides in 2005. One year later, the
waterpark followed that up with an Extreme River and indoor AquaPlay AP1050
structure, and in 2007 with the design and equipment of a fully themed Surf Wave
Pool and outdoor AquaPlay AP200.
KMG’s new
High Swing in
deliveries
Antwerp
Fresh from unveiling its High Swing tower
last month in Antwerp (Park World, July
2009), the Dutch manufacturer KMG
continues to deliver a number of its
popular Speed and Inversion rides.
Scottish showman Graham Sedgwick
took delivery of an Inversion named Rock
Rage at the beginning of July and the
ride is currently appearing on the British
fairground circuit. In total KMG has now
received orders for 12 units of the ride,
including deliveries earlier this year to
Franz Thurner in Austria and Broderick
Pavier in Australia.
Meanwhile the company’s Speed
propeller ride has been supplied this year
to customers in France and Australia,
with another due any day now for Lars
Winter (Nordisk Tivoli) in Denmark.
Next February Tim Casper of PBJ Happy Days Shows in the US (where KMG is
represented by Rides-4-U) will take delivery of an Inversion after the ride appears
at the IISF trade show in Gibtown, Florida. Finally, leading Swiss fairground family
Maier has signed up for KMG’s second XXL, the company’s giant swinging
pendulum ride. This travelling attraction stands 45-metres high and packs onto
three trailers. The original is currently travelling in Germany.
