Sir,
The reason for this letter
concernsthesetofpipespicturedon
frontcoverofthePipingTimes,vol.
61, No. 4., and which are also on
displayforalltoseeattheCulloden
Visitor Centre.
I meant to write earlier,and by
now what I am going to say may
well have been already pointed out
by other makers,players or bagpipe
lovers.Iwasverysurprisedtoseethe
pipes set up as they appear on the
magazine cover. Perhaps there is a
specific reason why the curator
wanted them arranged this way?
It seems to me that several parts
have been switched around. The
positions of the stocks, blow stick
and chanter seem incorrect.As you stocks are fine as to placement,but
can see in the photograph the we cannot tell if the stocks are the
blowstick is in the chanter location, correct size.Then again,perhaps all
while the chanter is in what appears this had to do with the First of
tobeatenorstock,butplacedinthe April?

Some week ago, a very good
friend of mine, fine piper and very
fond of piobaireachd, Robert
Carpentier,offered me a subscription
in order to be a member of the
Piobaireachd Society.Thanks to him
very warmly again.So I went on the
Piobaireachd Society website and ran
over a chapter where Bob Nicol
wrote a report from his visit in
Brittany, guest by Mad Mesnard at
Batz sur Mer in 1972 on advice from
Jakez Pincet and Patrick Molard.
