Holyhead RT’s bonfire night was voted among the top ten firework displays in both the
Telegraph and Guardian newspapers. “We couldn’t have been happier with the way the
evening went”, commented Owen Sutton, fundraiser and Table Vice Chairman, after a
record 4000 people flocked to Penrhos Beach to enjoy an impressive 35-minute

spectacular. Mayor of Holyhead, Ailia Lewis MBE, welcomed the crowds to an event where
the accent was firmly on safety: “The fire service offered us plenty of advice and support in
the planning, and their attendance throughout the evening was invaluable,” said Holyhead
