The latest data from the Land Registry House Price Index shows that
house prices have continued to fall in value during November. The

annual house price change now stands at -12.2 per cent, which brings -10
the average price of a property to £161,883. This is in comparison to

last month’s report, which recorded the annual change at -10.1 per
cent, with an average property value of £165,529. This month marks

the fifteenth in which annual price change has decreased in England

and Wales. The monthly change in November was -1.9 per cent.
The weakening market conditions have continued to affect sales

volumes in England and Wales. In June to September 2007, there

were, on average, 115,697 transactions per month. In the same period
this year, the number had fallen to just 48,599 sales per month.

In London, annual change is currently -10.2 per cent, while monthly 3
change stands at -0.4 per cent. The average property is worth
£317,101. Wales is the only region in England and Wales where there

has been no monthly change. Every other region has experienced a
