• Does your Invitation to Bid process offer reports that quickly help you visualize where the vendor selection process stands? You need information fast and clear. You need reports that save you time. Today, easy-to-read visual reports are essential. As you well know, we all have mounds of information to consume daily, which impacts our ability to stay focused on the construction project at hand. A quality In- vitation to Bid system will make it easy to view how successfully your team is in selecting and communicating with vendors; and, you will ben- efit
from improved deliverability and reports that track and manage your results.
SHARE INFORMATION EFFICIENTLY
Getting back to my analogy of a construction project being akin to a manufacturing process, consider this: Every product that is manufac- tured has a set of engineering documents. A building project is no different. The outcome of the design and engineering process is naturally a set of construction drawings and reports that define how your unique product is to be manufactured. These plans and specs can contain hundreds of pages. Pre-Internet, the cost of copying and shipping these items was enormous. While some GCs use general purpose file sharing platforms today to dis- tribute documents, it is my opinion that the sharing of documents and the communication process should be highly integrated.
