Bold yet meditative, dynamic yet serene, the paintings of Christopher H. Martin harness the passions and intricate sub- tleties of nature. The success of Martin’s works is due in part to his signature practice of reverse glass painting. Martin’s radical reinterpretation of the art form allows for a freedom of expres- sion unachievable by conven- tional methods.
In his paintings, Martin uses state-of-the-art techniques in acrylic and canvas media at scales commonly ranging from two to 16 feet wide. Depicting abstraction from observations in nature, Martin refers to his style of painting as organic expres- sionism.
Notable achievements include a 120-foot painting, Velocity, commissioned in 2012 for the Austin Formula One racetrack, Circuit of the Americas. The work is considered to be the largest painting of its type in the world. Martin’s paintings can be found in private and corporate collections across the United States and in several countries. Founded 21 years ago in Dallas, Christopher Martin Gallery provides the perfect atmosphere to showcase the breadth of his work.
