Hybrid Teas and Grandifloras

LIEBESZAUBER Hybrid Tea (Var:

Crimson Spire) One of our best red hybrid teas, this vigorous, hardy plant produces wonderful, long-stemmed, clear dark red fl owers with a nice spiral center. Its velvety texture is so alluring that we keep begging it to become fragrant as well. But, you can’t have everything. T e plant is large and spreading, covered in dark green, leathery foliage and has good resistance to all those maladies that often attack roses.

MARIJKE KOOPMAN Hybrid Tea

Long tubular buds open slowly into exquisitely formed blooms of exhibition quality, particularly in cool climates. Its greatest asset is the enormous volume of cut fl owers it can produce in a season. Plants are upright with dense foliage of slate green that never seems to get disease. In America, roses bear easily recognizable names, but in Europe they are often named for friends with sometimes tongue-twisting moni- kers. Properly pronounced this is ‘Muh-rye-kuh’, but if you’re ordering by phone, just the word Koopman will get you by.
