TOOLING MANAGER


A Midwest iron, sand, cope and drag foundry; who is a member of the Tri-State AFS chapter; is searching for a qualified Foundry Tooling Manager. Essential job functions would include: Manage in-house pattern shop staff; manage tool design, gating design with aid of Magma solidification system and ensure tool- ing is built accurately and on-time; working with vendors to provide accurate tool quotes; be instrumental in improving the quality of cast parts through close ties with the quality function; manage tool receipt and storage within our Odyssey management system; and be an instrumental team member to assist in cost reduction/yield improvement.


Educational requirements would include: Foundry tooling engineering experience, management experience, ability to read and interpret prints and models, grasp of math commensurate to job requirements, com- puter and software skills needed to provide accurate and informative reports to manage- ment, and iron sand casting tooling experi- ence. At a minimum, the qualified candidate would possess a high school diploma.


The proper candidate would exhibit coaching, continuous learning, team and individual build- ing skills. Additionally this individual would need to be able to initiate action and follow-up, be adept in time management, and have a knowledge of safe shop practice combined with technical/professional knowledge and skills.


Wages would be commensurate with training and abilities.
