It seems incredible that this is the third issue of Research Information to have been published since the onset of the pandemic. Last month we organised a very


successful webcast, with more than 1,000 viewers registered, entitled Covid-19 and the Future of the Academic Library. Three librarians from different countries around the world gave us the benefit of experience gained since lockdown was introduced in their respective institutions.


Though all three have had to work


hard and inventively to deal with the situation they found themselves in, there were remarkable feelings of optimism mixed in as well – with hopes that the pandemic might usher in a new era of open science, a more open attitude towards different ways of working, and hopes that those at the sharp end might be better rewarded by their employers as a recognition of their highly- skilled work. There is a short precis of
