ach June in conjunction with Father’s Day, we celebrate men. As complicated as it


may be at times to live with them, we women know they are a necessary ingredient in our lives—whether they be friends, husbands, fathers, grandfathers or mentors. Whatever the male role in our lives, we need to encourage them to take care of


themselves. So often they give too little thought to their own health care. Our Integrative Health For Men article (pp15-17) reports alarming statistics not to be ignored. Depression diagnoses are on the rise, especially


among our youth. Many causes of depression can be cured naturally! Why are our adolescents prescribed pink/ lavender/green pharmaceuticals with endless expiration dates? (See pp 24-25.) Whenever I feel gloomy, I remember sound advice from my Father: “Get outside and visit a Garden Center.” No doubt—strolling through rows of flowers has always triggered positive energy for me….all my six senses thrive.
