Free Gardening Classes at South Seminole Farm & Nursery

H

Green Community Sandra Glover

Cover artist Sandra Glover’s artwork, Green Community, celebrates sustainable communities, this month’s theme. Her watercolor portrays a healthy, happy town where neighbors garden together, the wind powers homes and businesses and streets are bike-friendly. A self-taught painter, illustrator

and sculptor, Glover lives in Malibu, California, yet the piece was inspired in part by the row houses of Baltimore, where she lived for 10 years. “Living there, I always dreamed of rooſtop gardening,” says Glover. “I have always wanted to live in a friendly community like this, where people are out in the streets talking to each other.” Her love of nature and work as a

naturalist and animal shelter volunteer informs and inspires her paintings, which are created at home at her outdoor “studio” or on location in the Santa Monica Mountains that surround her home. Glover has illustrated numerous

books and publications and exhibited at several galleries in the Los Angeles area. Her work also includes natural history exhibits and murals on display in parks in Baltimore and Malibu. Glover is an active member of the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore.

Create Your Inner Sanctuary with Diane Ross D

on’t these troubled times keep you troubled! Learn how to access Your Inner Sanctuary during a guided meditation

with Diane Ross. You will also be given “anchors” to this positive state, so that you can feel peace and calm regardless of what’s going on outside of you. “Anchor” is an NLP (neurolinguistic programming) term that means trigger (or a key) to an emotion. Due to the pandemic, we have missed Diane’s monthly sessions at

the Winter Park Public Library. Fortunately, she can offer her next event online (from the comfort of your home). Held on Tuesday, July 7 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, the cost is only $15. Tis is an opportunity to connect with others online, and learn to feel your absolute BEST! Payments of $15 will be accepted through Eventbrite. To get the Zoom link, please
