The Glasgow School of Art is an internationally significant and influential leading centre for studio based creative education and research.


The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) offers specialist programmes in architecture, fine art, design, innovation and simulation/visualisation. The School brings disciplines together to explore problems in new ways and find innovative solutions and creates an environment for peer learning, critical enquiry, experimentation and prototyping, helping to address many of the grand challenges confronting society and contemporary business.


The GSA is rooted in Glasgow but with an international focus. A third of students are from outside the UK, and staff are engaged in a range of international research and teaching projects. The School also has a rural hub in the Highlands of Scotland.


Glasgow is an important and dynamic creative and cultural city, home to a growing population of creatives, practitioners from the visual and performing arts, and some of Scotland’s most important cultural and creative organisations. The GSA has a global

The GSA has a significant role to play in the city through the economic and cultural impact of our staff and students, with nearly 60% of our graduates remaining in the city working within the creative and cultural industries, the wider economy or through establishing their own businesses. Importantly, our staff and students contribute to the city’s cultural infrastructure through exhibitions, events and their international networks during their time at the GSA and beyond.
