Wilko Johnson Band with Special Guest Glenn Tilbrook • 26 April • Tramshed

‘Sea Blue’ comes as the fascinating, boundless four- piece round off their biggest ever headline tour of the UK, playing an impressive 22 x dates. Feedback has been tremendous from fans and critics alike, as it becomes even more strikingly obvious how talented this young band are. ‘Sea Blue’ is yet another delicious slice of enthralling indie that bursts to the seams with the type of energy that only Bloxx are capable of.

Wilko Johnson original Dr Feelgood guitarist has enjoyed a rousing return to the live arena recently, including a number 1 album with Roger Daltrey and playing a sold out show at The Royal Albert Hall to mark his 70th birthday.

Heavily influenced by Mick Green, Wilko employs a finger-style, chop-chord strumming action. Following a stint with Ian Dury & The Blockheads in the 80’s, he eventually formed The Wilko Johnson Band with ex-Blockhead Norman Watt-Roy on bass.

Also

featuring Dylan Howe on drums, the trio have become one of the most exciting r’n’b bands in the world today.

With very special guest Glenn Tilbrook Glenn Tilbrook has more than earned his place at pop’s top table as one of our most cherished Songwriters, singers and guitarists, not to mention an in-demand and endlessly endearing live performer. 45 years after he first linked up with Chris Difford to form the band that became the much-loved evergreen Squeeze, his unwavering devotion to, and joy of playing live, shows no signs of diminishing.

You couldn’t make it up; surely the German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn hasn’t bosched out yet another new show? And what’s he still doing here anyway? Well, his lack of transferable skills is what keeps him here and his belief that practise makes perfect is what keeps him going. This show is a much needed call to arms. Listen, everyone: stop pondering and hand-wringing. Instead get on your bike and put your face to the grindstone!

Rhod Gilbert: Hoof Cancer Where it Hurts 2 • 29 April • New Theatre at Wales

Millenium Centre in September 2017 was a huge success; Rhod hosted the evening alongside a stellar line up that featured Michael McIntyre, Greg Davies, Lloyd Langford, Nick Helm, Angela Barnes & Kiri Pritchard-McLean… and it sold out in under 2 hours. The event was organised as a fundraiser for Velindre Cancer Centre where Rhod is a Patron,

as part of his fundraising for a Trek through Peru. Rhod’s next adventure for Velindre will see him lead a group of trekkers up and down the ancient steps of The Great Wall Of China. So by popular demand Rhod has organised Hoof Cancer Right Where it Hurts… 2, an event which will take place at The New Theatre. Rhod will be joined by another incredible selection of surprise guests from the world of comedy.
