from 4.30pm to 5.30pm at Eastern Leisure Centre in Llanrumney. Luke Williams, development officer of Wicketz in Wales, said: “We want to give children new opportunities,

which they currently lack. A scheme like Wicketz encourages young people to come together and can be life- changing. It means a lot to everyone involved.” The programme has helped raise awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and physical activity for children. Wicketz also helps youngsters develop social and personal skills that will benefit them later in life. As well as the Wicketz hub in Llanrumney, other hubs will shortly be opening in South Wales. The Lord’s Taverners also provided kit and equipment to the Wicketz hub which means anyone can take part without needing the necessary equipment and associated costs. DOGS TRUST BRIDGEND DOG OF THE MONTH

Eagle and Hannah

Eagle is a lively three-year-old ex-racing Greyhound. He enjoys doggy company and could live with another dog of similar size already in the home. He is excitable when he sniffs out treats so this will help with any training he requires. Eagle walks well on the lead and is always up for an off lead run. After a good walk he is happy to stretch out on a nice soft bed for a snooze. Eagle is looking for a home where there is someone around most of the day as he is not used to being left. He can live with children 14 years old and above. Canine Carer Hannah says “Eagle is an adorable lad, who is always eager to go for a walk with his canine friends. Greyhound fans will fall in love with him.” If you would like to know more about Eagle, contact Dogs Trust Bridgend on 01656 725219; or pop down to the centre at Court Colman CF31 4NG. You can also visit the website at www dogstrust.org.uk.
