Diners surprised with gifts of wine as Bellway joins forces with The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge

Diners at venues across Cowbridge were surprised with giſts of wine over two weekends as housing developer Bellway joined forces with hotel and restaurant group Town and Country Collective. Fiſty bottles of wine were given out to diners at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd July. Customers dining at Oscars of Cowbridge were treated to a bottle of wine on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July. Ten it was the turn of people eating Sunday lunch at Te Penny Farthing café and wine bar on 30th July. Clare Sheehy, Group Sales Manager for Town and Country Collective, said: “When Bellway approached us about the idea of surprising people with a free bottle of wine, we thought it was a great way to create a buzz at the weekend. “We moved the promotion between venues to maintain the element of surprise. While the promotion was running in a venue, tables which ordered a bottle of wine had their first bottle knocked off their bill. “As you can imagine, they were delighted. Our diners kept the spirit of the event alive by keeping their free giſt a secret.” Over the two weekends, more than 130 tables

who ordered a bottle of wine later found out that Bellway had paid for it. Bellway suggested the event to promote its Edenbrook development in Ystradowen, near Cowbridge. Everyone who received a free bottle of wine was also given a voucher for a £5,000 discount on one of the final six plots at Edenbrook as an additional surprise when their restaurant bill arrived. Tey could use the voucher themselves or pass it to a friend. Carly Maidment, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “Edenbrook is a stunning development in a tranquil village setting very close to Cowbridge. Our visitors always find the idyllic location attractive, but we have found that a lot of our purchasers have moved from nearby and had not previously visited the village. “We love the idea that we’re the best kept secret in the Cowbridge area, but with just six homes remaining we felt it was time to spread the word a little wider. “Working with Town and Country Collective has been great fun so we have vowed to collaborate again soon.
