Barratt appoints future leader to deliver high quality homes at developments across South Wales


BARRATT HOMES is working to enhance its leadership team across South Wales, by appointing a new trainee assistant site manager. Tom will be based at the housebuilder’s popular Hanbury Village site in Torfaen. “It’s an amazing opportunity to learn construction, management style and leadership skills from expert mentors. Donation given to Llantwit Fardre rugby club


A girls rugby club in Llantwit Fardre will be able to buy new kit – thanks to a donation from a leading housebuilder. Members of Bridgers Girls Rugby Hub, based at Llantwit Fardre RFC, are celebrating aſter receiving a £750 donation from Persimmon Homes East Wales, which is building nearby. Te donation comes as part of Persimmon’s Healthy Communities scheme, which donates £22,500 to UK sport every month. Rhian Evans, of the club, said: “We’re thrilled to receive this generous donation from Persimmon Homes. “We have 100 girls actively participating in the Bridgers within five age groups. Our goal is to attract as many girls to the sport as possible. “Funding is always a constant struggle so to receive a donation like this from Persimmon is a huge boost.”

Persimmon’s Healthy Communities scheme reaches its crescendo in the coming months.


Next month finalists from each of Persimmon’s 30 regional businesses will be selected and a public vote will follow,


with prizes of £200,000, £50,000 and £5,000 up for grabs. Te Healthy Communities scheme runs alongside Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative for non-sports clubs, which sees more than £700,000 dished out to good causes each year. Victoria Williams, sales director at Persimmon Homes East Wales, said: “We’re delighted to support Bridgers Girls Rugby Hub with this money. “More and more girls are getting involved in rugby, which is fantastic. I hope this funding can be used for new kit and equipment.” Persimmon Homes is currently building close to Llantwit Fardre at its St Edeyrns Village development in Cardiff and at Golwg y Mynydd in Mountain Ash.
