EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW PREVIEW continued

Opportunities from Obart Topcon’s Falcon set for take-off

Topcon will highlight its Falcon 8 unmanned aerial system, which has a rotary-wing configuration and is designed to undertake inspection and survey tasks in challenging environments. It incorporates a navigating system to compensate for high winds, reducing the need for pilot corrections.

Also on display will be the LN-100 layout navigation tool, which is designed to combine the functions of self-levelling lasers and robotic total stations for accurate layout and alignment on-site.

Obart Pumps says that the severe flooding throughout Christmas and the New Year, caused by Storms Desmond, Eva and Frank, acted as a dramatic reminder to people that they need to be prepared in advance to protect their properties, and cannot just rely on the emergency services for help. Not surprisingly, the company met huge demand from hirers for pumps and other flood defence equipment, to hire and sell to those affected, such as its HydroSack and HydroSnake products. Indeed, in the first week of December, over 5,000 of these products were supplied. These are designed to replace the traditional sandbag. Weighing 700g when dry, on contact with water they absorb up to 20 litres and work as a flood barrier. At the Show, any hirer purchasing 48 packs will receive a free point-of-sale merchandiser.
