YES, THERE’S AN AGRICULTURAL WAGES PANEL. BUT THE MINIMUM WAGE IS WELL, PRETTY MINIMAL AND WHAT YOUNG PERSON WANTS TO LABOUR IN THE FIELDS WHEN THEY CAN STOCK SHELVES FOR MORE MONEY?

The bosses’ body, the Welsh NFU has made it clear in its manifesto for the 2026 Senedd elections there is no need for a wages board – when you have a perfectly adequate national minimum wage.

But it looks like the Labour government in Wales is in step with Unite and values the agricultural advisory panel. From the then shadow farming minister who in 2012 said,
