IFORIUM

It goes without saying that at this point in time, we’re a million miles away from the regulatory wild west of the early 2000s. With such a developed environment that we see now, the challenge for today’s operators is to identify the markets that are still profitable while finding ways to negotiate the complex web of rules and specifications required of them at every turn.

data capture and player behaviour can be explored – and of course, we’re here to make the operating environment easier for the operator.

GIO: How important is speed in this process? Is there significant competition among aggregators to get it done faster? PP: Speed is definitely a massive advantage; the faster you can bring games to multiple markets simultaneously – while meeting regulatory requirements – they better you are as an operator.

Of course, as aggregators, it’s our job to support that. We provide an off-the-shelf compliance solution that covers multiple gaming providers, which ensuring that they’re all compliant. In effect, we’re removing the headache for our partners and speeding up time to market. The role of aggregators in the process cannot be underestimated. We are the source for localised content specific to our partner’s market and player base, and the faster you can do it the more in-demand you will be.

GIO: What tools can platform providers acquire to make sure this happens faster? PP: They can acquire an aggregator! Joking aside, our role is to take a deeper level of control of the process and ensure that all content is tailored to regional regulatory requirements to ensure rapid entry into new jurisdictions.

GIO: Any particular tech at the forefront of this at the moment? PP: As early adopters of the new regulatory frameworks springing up across Europe, Iforium has worked hard to keep pace with the rate of change we’re currently seeing; as well developing our aggregation platform in conjunction with the latest raft of regulation.

GIO: Any lessons learned that you’d like to share with others? PP: For operators, each time they enter a new market or there’s a new regulatory change, the key is having a system – an architecture that can permit that change. What we’ve been doing over a number of years is trying to take a level of control over all of these different elements involved in multiple platforms and content providers who are all trying to solve the same problem. As an aggregator, our objective and our belief is that we can provide a significant level of control over that process by innovating on our own platform. It’s quite compelling for our suppliers and also our operator partners, because Iforium and its systems can deliver in line with the complex network of regulations we see today.

GIO: Looking to the future, where’s the next major market to be regulated? PP: We’re keeping a close eye on activity in Germany ahead of regulation, which will likely be soon. Alongside, we’re staying abreast of

developments in LatAm, with Argentina proving to particularly interesting following Buenos Aires a few months ago. The US market also goes without saying! There’s a wealth of opportunity there and we’ll be capitalising on that with our US operator partners.

requirements – they better you are as an operator

GIO: What does the next 12 months hold for Iforium? PP: It’s been a fantastic year for us so far and we aim to keep that going; integrations, partnerships, innovation and such like… you can expect to see plenty more of that from us! We also aim to cement our position as the industry’s leading aggregator partner of choice for both operators and content providers in multiple regulated jurisdictions, as well as keeping our eye on new markets.
