Häfele promotes clever internal storage designs following research findings

ccording to new data from Häfele UK, shared in its recently released Homes for Living report, the biggest bugbears homeowners have about their kitchens are a lack of storage (28%), cluttered worktops (26%), cabinets placed too high to reach items (16%) and poor access to items stored in corner cupboards (13%).


To remedy these challenges, Häfele is encouraging designers to explore clever internal cabinet solutions when taking briefs from customers.


Isabel James, Product Group Manager for Kitchen Storage Accessories and Integrated Waste at Häfele, said: “We know from our research that functionality is a top priority for customers having their kitchen refurbished. Designers must help customers to visualise not only the exterior of the kitchen, but the interior features and storage solutions, and with some clever thinking, they can create spaces that meet their bespoke needs. “The Cornerstone Maxx from Vauth Sagel, for example, transforms awkward corner spaces into useable storage solutions, with large-area shelving which extends from the cabinet. Integrated bins


have become very popular, as they enable people to keep waste solutions out of sight and out of mind, so manufacturers like Hailo are developing options in a variety of weights and sizes to suit all kitchen designs and layouts. Meanwhile, super slim pull outs of just 150mm work for herbs and spices, wine bottles, or as a towel rack, making use of every single bit of under-counter space on offer.”
