JCB strengthens generator security & emissions checks

CB is stepping up efforts to improve the security and emissions visibility of its Stage V generator range - reinforcing its push for clear, practical identification across the power generation sector.
The move was announced today (23rd April) at the 2026 annual meeting of the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Power Generating Systems (AMPS), the UK’s power generation trade association,
JCB’s move highlights the company’s focus on measures that help protect valuable equipment, support emissions checks and give customers greater confidence in the machines they use.
Generators are frequently moved between sites, hired across fleets and passed through wide supply chains. Clear, trusted identification is increasingly important — not just for managing assets day-to-day, but also for verifying emissions standards and helping police recover stolen equipment.
JCB was the first member of the AMPS to adopt CESAR Emissions Compliance Verification (CESAR ECV) for its RS generator range, following the association’s decision to make the system available to its members. AMPS represents manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and rental specialists across the UK power generation industry.
CESAR ECV works alongside the established CESAR security scheme, owned by the Construction Equipment Association (CEA) and delivered by Datatag. More than 700,000 CESAR systems have now been supplied across construction, agriculture and related sectors.
Tiago Courinha, JCB Global Business Head for Power Generation, said: “Customers want confidence that their equipment is compliant, secure and easy to identify. By backing clear identification and emissions checks, we’re supporting solutions that work on site and add real value for owners and operators.”
Viki Bell, CEO of the CEA (Construction Equipment Association), owner of the CESAR scheme, said: “JCB’s continued support for CESAR ECV is important for the wider sector. It shows that security and emissions visibility are being taken seriously at manufacturer level and that there is real value in giving customers practical support from the outset.”
Kevin Howells, Managing Director of Datatag Ltd, delivery partner to the CESAR scheme, said: “Passing 700,000 systems supplied is an important milestone for CESAR and a clear sign of the confidence the industry continues to place in the scheme. JCB’s support for CESAR ECV in the
generator sector helps extend those benefits into another important part of the equipment market.”
Proteus shortlisted for NFRC Award at 25 Moorgate P
roteus Waterproofing has successfully delivered a highly complex roof waterproofing package at 25 Moorgate, London - a landmark 72,000 sq. ſt office redevelopment in the heart of the City - a project now shortlisted for an NFRC Roofing Award in the Cold Applied Liquid Waterproofing category.
The scheme represented a major transformation of an existing building into a modern, low- carbon workspace that delivered BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and WELL ‘Platinum’ standards, placing performance, durability and environmental efficiency as a key part of the design. Working in partnership with an Approved Contractor, Essential Building Services (EBS), Proteus led the design and delivery of waterproofing systems across multiple roof levels, including terraces and the main roof structure, integrating both exposed and buried applications.
Delivering Under Pressure in a Complex City Environment - Set within one of London’s busiest commercial districts, the project presented a series of technical and logistical challenges. These included the integration of new and existing roof structures, low upstands, complex interfaces with cladding systems and working within confined rooſtop spaces alongside multiple trades.
The programme was further complicated by a mid-project change in main contractor and design team, requiring rapid reassessment of waterproofing details without impacting delivery timelines. Despite these pressures, Proteus and EBS maintained momentum through a highly collaborative and adaptable approach, ensuring the project remained on schedule and met stringent performance requirements.
High-Performance Waterproofing Solution - Proteus installed its Cold Melt® waterproofing system across the project, providing a durable, fully bonded solution capable of handling complex roof layouts while delivering long-term protection against water ingress.
A critical additional element was the successful completion of Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) testing, with all results verified and signed off by the Proteus Technical Team prior to final finishes. This provided full assurance of system integrity, and formed part of the long-term guarantee.
Recognition for Technical Excellence - The project’s inclusion on the NFRC Awards shortlist highlights the quality of both design and execution, recognising the ability of the team to deliver a technically demanding waterproofing solution within a challenging urban environment.
The finished development now provides premium office space, enhanced by a series of rooſtop terraces and a communal club space, all supported by a robust and future-proof roofing system.
The project further reinforces Proteus Waterproofing’s position as a trusted partner for delivering technically complex roofing solutions across both new build and refurbishment sectors.
