EnveoVent: An innovative new complete wall solution

The UK government has set an ambitious target to build 1.5 million new homes over the next five years, to address the underlying housing shortage. The challenges to achieving this are broad, including the skills gap, planning system, and new regulations and how such a significant increase in housebuilding will be delivered.

To support the quick delivery of housing built with offsite solutions among social housing providers and small-to-regional housebuilders and contractors, Saint- Gobain has developed EnveoVent – a fully insulated and ventilated structural complete wall system.

One unified product

Combining five Saint-Gobain brands – Saint-Gobain Off-Site Solutions, Isover, British Gypsum, Weber and Okarno – EnveoVent is the first fully tested closed panel timber frame complete wall solution from a single manufacturer.

The fully tested system offers one transaction, one single point of contact throughout, a single warranty, and satisfies the Building Safety Act 2022 requirement for a Golden Thread of information.

A quicker, safer build

Offsite solutions offer increased speed to build; EnveoVent can deliver a weatherproof shell in as little as six days. Panels are manufactured offsite and delivered with ‘plot packs’ for the internal and external finishes, complete with instructions, fixtures, and fittings.

It also delivers significant safety benefits, with fewer trades working at once and less time spent working at height. Better than Future Homes Standard

The Future Homes Standard demands new homes reduce carbon emissions by 75-80% and improve energy efficiency standards with a U-value of 0.18 W/m2

K. EnveoVent delivers U-values of 0.16-0.13 W/m2 K.

By combining faster build speeds with better energy efficiency, offsite solutions like EnveoVent can make MMC both accessible and highly attractive to housing associations and private developers.

A new standard in the heat pumps market

Ideal Heating is at the forefront of the decarbonisation of heating, working with the Government, industry bodies, installers and customers to support the drive to net zero and playing a leading role in the transition to heat pumps as a low-carbon alternative to gas boilers.

In 2025, Ideal is ramping up its focus on heat pumps, including the launch of a new proposition setting the standard for heat pump adoption in the UK.

“Setting a new standard for heat pumps” is based on Ideal’s unrivalled heat pump product warranty, coupled with a market-leading service offering that stretches from pre to post installation and support.

Ideal is also investing in large-scale heat pump production, will open an industry-leading research and development facility for

heat pumps and other renewable heating solutions this year, and is training thousands of installers to become low-carbon heating engineers.

Mark Derbyshire, Ideal Heating’s Managing Director (Domestic), said: “Heat pump installation rates are growing rapidly and we’re committed to leading the way in this field, while setting a new standard for the wraparound package of product, warranty, service and support for heat pumps in the UK.”

Ideal has been awarded significant Government funding to support an investment totalling just over £12m to establish large-scale heat pump production in the UK, while also investing £19m in a UK Technology Centre, largely focused on research and development of heat pumps, which is due to open this year at the company’s headquarters site in Hull.

Ideal’s Expert Academy training arm also offers the industry’s most extensive facilities and provision to equip boiler installers with the skills and qualifications to install, service and maintain heat pumps.
