So apparently, over a third of people (from a decent-sized representative sample) now prefer to gamble online, with 68% saying that a responsible gambling environment is a key aspect of choosing their provider. More than 25% of respondents said they don’t want to return to traditional gambling venues – does this combination of statistics mean that the world of gambling has changed forever? Or is it temporary? Obviously only time will tell the full story, but things have certainly… Skewed, shall we say. We’ve had a tremendous summer of sport, and that has no doubt infl uenced gambling behaviour; but will it last through another winter, with so much of the world enjoying increasing vaccination against COVID? I can’t wait to fi nd out.
