Tork® Site Safety Guide Shares Hygiene and

Safety Recommendations for Manufacturers E

ssity, the global manufacturer of

Tork, has published the Tork Site Safety Guide for Manufacturing. This guide offers insights from Essity’s first- hand experience

confronting the pandemic and its role in advising the U.K. government on safer policy. It serves as a case study for other manufacturers to develop their own go-forward strategy for resuming operations. This comprehensive approach was created through collaboration with trade unions, industry bodies, as well as public health officials, and is designed to mitigate infection spread and keep workers, customers and the public safe. The best practices featured in the guide outline

strategies on how to effectively exercise social distancing within a confined manufacturing environment, navigate high-traffic areas and people flow, and achieve critical hygiene and surface cleaning protocols among employees. It also provides recommendations on properly training employees on key COVID-19 information such as the virus symptoms, the importance of hand hygiene and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

New high sensitivity, miniature press force sensor captures very small forces

T

he trend toward miniaturization is unstoppable. Medtech devices, semiconductors, electrical components and automotive parts: in almost every industry, products must now

combine increasingly compact dimensions with higher performance. And that poses major challenges for manufacturers and suppliers, who have to achieve maximum accuracy when processing these high-precision lightweight parts. A new, highly sensitive piezoelectric crystal developed by Kistler guarantees extremely precise

measuring results. Used in a new Type 9323 press force sensor which is ideal for measuring very small forces in challenging industrial environments and is an excellent solution for calibrating force sensors installed in production machinery. With a sensitivity of -32 pC/N, the new sensor can accurately measure forces of less than 5 N. The high-precision

measuring range of the unique Kistler Type 9323AAA miniature press force sensor cannot be matched by any other commercially available sensor in the world making it the solution of choice for measuring very small forces.

TPP 450B Series - We expanded the TPP 450 series with all new protection class II models A

fter being on the market for two years Traco Power provides the TPP 450 (medical power supply) series with a major expansion by

introducing an all new class II version of the series. The new TPP 450BA-M and TPP 450B-M series are thus additionally suitable for non-stationary applications where no connection to ground is possible. They also feature a reinforced double I/O isolation system according to

latest medical safety standards (60601-1 3rd edition, 2 x MOPP). The excellent efficiency of up to 94% allows a high power density for the standard 5" x 3" packaging format and natural convection cooled power up to 320 W at +50°C and 450W at +65°C with fan. High reliability is provided by use of industrial quality grade components and an excellent thermal management. It makes the products an ideal solution for medical devices and for demanding safety and space critical applications.

Seeley International proudly presents the very latest in its Climate Wizard range, the CW3

for smaller or uniquely challenging applications. The concept of how it works remains unchanged, combined with equally effective cooling performance found in Climate Wizard’s other commercial models, such as the CW-P15, CW-H15 and CW-80. CW3 provides hyper-efficient

U

cooling of outside air and up to 80% lower cooling energy costs, compared to equivalent reverse cycle systems, with the added benefit of supplying 100% fresh, cool air into the building, increasing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).

CW3 delivers incredible part load performance due to its inverter technology fans. The CW3 contains an on-board

sophisticated control system that ensures peak efficiency during all operating conditions. Designed to meet the cooling and fresh air requirements of buildings across many sectors, particularly where

there is constant access by customers or occupants, spaces constantly open to outdoors or where doors are frequently opening and closing. Seeley coolers are designed for applications with zero or minimal re-circulation requirement, so effectively

purging the space of pollutants, dust and germs. This is especially helpful as an aid against Covid-19. Using only water and electricity, Climate Wizard will not have you in a quandary about refrigerant legislation. We

cool wisely with water and no synthetic refrigerants or chemicals to harm the environment. With the added benefit of being able to use rain water to run the cooling cycle and the facility to utilise any waste water for grey water (irrigation, fire tanks, toilet flushing), this makes for a very carbon friendly, low water usage solution. That’s not only great for reducing energy bills, it’s also great for the environment. So when you consider your company’s return to work, think about enthusing your employees with confidence, be a Climate Wizard!

maxon and Fourier

Intelligence join forces to transform rehabilitation technology

maxon's precision drive systems and the start-up Fourier's Intelligence’s rehabilitation robotics are a perfect match and are expected to drive the development of new technologies for patients. Technology plays an increasingly important role in

m

rehabilitation services and healthcare. Therefore, clinicians, engineers and companies recognize that they need to accelerate the development of technological solutions to best meet the needs of patients. This is the main goal of the partnership between drive specialist maxon and start-up Fourier Intelligence, which specializes in exoskeletons and robotic rehabilitation. The two companies are pooling their expertise to develop industry- leading technologically products and platforms for patient treatment. To seal the partnership, a memorandum of understanding was signed in December 2020.
