icro Nano MEMS 2017 that took place on 26-27 September in Hall 1
at the NEC, Birmingham as a part of the Sensors & Instrumentation show delivered another action packed event. This year’s event closed on a high, with exhibitors commending the 9th edition of the event for the quality of its visitors. With exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services, a lively and informative seminar programme and an exciting range of feature areas, it was an action packed two days for buyers and decision makers in the field of micro and nano technology. The dedicated Micro Nano MEMS
seminar theatre offered thought- provoking and informative presentations on topics at the forefront of the industry, including ‘Big Data in Nanotechnology – Marketing Science and Measuring Impact’ delivered by Franky Barker of AZoNetwork, ‘Pushing the Limits: Micro Moulding’ presented by Aaron Johnson of Accumold and many more. The 2017 event incorporated a number of first time public appearances of new

Yole: “MEMS and sensors are being hailed as the enablers for pervasive, connected and contextually aware computing and are seen as drivers for an explosion of new applications and possibilities. Securing autonomous vehicles from hackers and improving crop yields to feed the 10 billion people we will have on the planet by 2050 is vital”, so never before has a show of this focus been more relevant. The analyst also points out that: “as
this technology is being woven into every aspect of our lives, sensing has become ubiquitous. Innovation in sensors, including the continuous improvement in fidelity and reductions in size and power, have made sensors increasingly indispensable. To create more proactive technologies that anticipate our needs, we can use sensors to imbue technologies with a deeper understanding of the user, their activities, their emotions and their
