Company News New appointee in step with ESBE values H

ydronics manufacturer, ESBE UK can definitely be judged to have

appointed the right person to help promote the company’s diverse capabilities, as well as its product quality, with new business administrator Molly Laight having just completed a B TEC level 3 diploma at Burnley College.

Having joined the steadily expanding team at ESBE’s new Rossendale premises in June, her

responsibilities have included invoicing as well as liaising with customers and the parent company’s headquarters staff in Sweden. Meanwhile she is also continuing with vocational training, supported by ESBE. Managing director, Darren Myers commented: “We had been looking for a post- grad or A-level student apprentice to join the business with no success – some candidates didn’t even turn up for their interviews - so we were getting fairly down-hearted, as we want to give back to society. Then, however, an email dropped from Molly who had seen our advert on a notice board. After interviewing Molly, both our Technical Manager, Nigel and myself knew she was right for the job. She may lack experience in the sector, but she definitely has the determination and the ability to learn. ESBE is sponsoring Molly through her Level 3 course, with a view to move on to a business degree later. Two months in and we are happy with her progress while our colleagues in Sweden have embraced her.” Molly reported: “I am really pleased to have joined a successful and expanding company like ESBE and, although very different to what I was doing at university, I am finding the work absorbing. I have been to visit the Swedish plant twice where I was made to feel very welcome, and I am also getting to know all the customers here in the UK.” https://esbe.eu/uk

Conex Bänninger relaunches three CPD programmes to empower industry professionals

C

onex Bänninger has re-introduced three new CIBSE-approved CPD programmes aimed at architects, specifiers, mechanical consultants/contractors and design engineers. Lisa Cox, national sales manager – UK & Ireland, commented: “The importance of Continual Professional Development (CPD) has never been greater. As the UK’s construction industry ramps up, professionals with up-to-date knowledge of the latest working methods and technologies have a competitive edge.”

The three CPD topics covered are:

‘Re-assessing the implications of copper press-fitting as an alternative to copper brazing for building services.’ Attendees will be made aware of what’s driving change, together with an insight into improvements and new developments in copper plumbing and HVAC pipe jointing. ‘Designing with materials and methods for MEP Services.’ This CPD will cover the advantages and disadvantages of modern technologies and how they are changing the way trade professionals are working. Among the major changes highlighted is the significant reduction in hot works. ‘Stainless steel press-fit systems for plumbing applications.’ The main objectives of this CPD include: the technical and healthcare benefits of stainless steel ‘press-fit’, suitable types of applications and proprietary design and installation aspects of stainless steel ‘press-fit.’

The CPD training is undertaken at the Conex Bänninger HQ at Global House in Kingswinford, Dudley or at a customer’s premises or 3rd party location. Interested parties can also attend the course via Teams. E: lisa.cox@ibpgroup.com https://conexbanninger.com

Vent-Axia delivers social housing a smart ventilation solution ahead of Awaab’s Law

V

ent-Axia has unveiled an industry first with its new Lo-Carbon Revive 7 Switchee-Enabled smart ventilation. Designed for the social housing sector, the new Lo-Carbon Revive 7 integrates Vent-Axia’s smart-enabled fan technology

with Switchee’s in-home connectivity to deliver energy-efficient ventilation, real-time environmental insights, tamper-proof performance, and proactive communication between landlords and residents. Vent-Axia is the first to provide remotely accessible fan data to housing providers and also the first with a smart technology solution that identifies condensation and mould while helping to prevent them.

The Lo-Carbon Revive 7 is an energy-efficient, filter-less unitary fan which offers high performance and near-silent operation. Designed to tackle condensation and mould, it already incorporates a sophisticated in-built data monitoring system; however, by integrating Switchee’s real-time data insights, social housing landlords can now proactively manage properties and support residents in a completely new way.

The Revive 7 Switchee Enabled solution offers continuous, real-time monitoring of indoor air quality, while improving compliance, protecting housing stock, and enhancing tenant wellbeing. This development comes at a critical time, with Awaab’s Law set to take. The legislation will impose strict requirements on social housing landlords to investigate and resolve issues of damp and mould within specified timeframes.

Providing instant insights into humidity, temperature, and fan usage, the Revive 7 Switchee Enabled gives early detection of damp, mould, or poor air quality. By proactively protecting residents and properties, it saves landlords money on the escalating costs associated with damp, mould and repairs. https://www.vent-axia.com/social-housing

Weatherite & Condair – a cool partnership W

hen Weatherite needed to develop an innovative cooling solution that didn’t rely on man-made refrigerants, it turned to Condair’s adiabatic cooling expertise. The partnership resulted in Weatherite’s innovative AdTec-D direct cooling system, which is now a highly proven free air-cooling unit, used by leading telecoms and data centre clients.

Andy Lewis, general manager for data centres at Weatherite,

commented: “Incorporating Condair’s adiabatic cooling into our AdTec-D unit has saved 80% of power per unit, compared to equivalent refrigerant- based systems. Condair’s flexibility and engineering helped us massively for adapting and producing products specific to the client’s needs. “A key benefit of working with Condair is their reliability and in not viewing them as merely a supplier, but as a partner, capable of supporting our product from the design stages through to on-site commissioning. I would definitely recommend Condair because of the quality of product, the service that they offer, and also because of the innovation that they offer for this sector.” Andy concluded.

Weatherite’s AdTec-D can offer 15-80kW of sensible cooling per unit, typically operates with an energy efficiency ratio greater than 15, and is an ideal retrofit solution for DC or telecoms operations looking to take advantage of free-air cooling. It can operate in free-air cooling only mode when the outdoor conditions allow or utilise adiabatic cooling to boost performance when needed. Even on the UK’s hottest ever recorded day, the AdTec-D successfully maintained the required indoor conditions for a leading UK telecoms provider, without any additional compressor-driven cooling.
