Flagship R-32 VRF to launch at HVACR Live

Toshiba Air Conditioning UK Ltd (TCUK), a part of Carrier Global Corporation, will showcase its latest product advances and commercial initiatives at HVACR Live, which takes place at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London on 18-19 April

C

entre stage on Toshiba Air Conditioning’s stand will be the latest generation of its flagship Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)

system, SHRM Advance. With its arrival, the industry now has access to a complete range of full-scale, high performance heat recovery VRF systems operating on lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant R-32. Operating on R-32 enables the system to deliver

a reduction of up to 80% (*1) in equivalent carbon emissions, due to the combination of lower GWP and reduced refrigerant charge possible with R-32 compared with similar capacity R-410A systems. “HVACR Live is well-timed and provides a great national launchpad for the UK roll-out of SHRM Advance and other exciting new products and initiatives we are introducing,” said David McSherry, Head of Sales, TCUK. “It gives visitors the opportunity to see SHRM Advance first-hand, and fully appreciate the remarkable benefits it offers in terms of compactness, energy efficiency and flexibility of application.” SHRM Advance incorporates a number of technical

innovations that help improve performance and boost energy efficiency. These include: ¡ Ability to select either three-pipe heat recovery or two-pipe heat pump operation ¡ Completely new twin-rotary compressor with liquid injection, to counteract the higher discharge temperature with R-32 ¡ Split heat exchanger and sub-cooling plate heat exchanger ¡ High-performance fan motor and thermodynamic circuit

These innovations contribute to a class-leading efficiency of up to 8.9 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) for cooling, and 4.67 Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) for heating. Visitors will also be able to see the latest addition

to Toshiba’s acclaimed Digital Inverter range of high-performance air conditioning split systems, DI Classic, which also operates on R-32. Available in capacities from 2 to 6hp, the compact DI Classic offers outstanding size-to-efficiency ratio, and cost-effective cooling and heating for homes and small workspaces. With energy costs soaring, the high efficiency design has an A++ energy rating for cooling and A+ for heating, ensuring economical operation and lower running costs. Toshiba Air Conditioning launched the first

ground-breaking DI system nearly 20 years ago, and continuously updates the technology, establishing a reputation as a leader in this key segment for

30 March 2023 TCUK’s upgraded equipment warranties focus on

improving industry standards by basing warranties on installer competence and knowledge. Toshiba Air Conditioning’s T5 Standard five-

reliable, high-performance products. The DI Classic benefits from this technical heritage and features an economical one-fan chassis design that delivers excellent performance in even highly restricted spaces. TCUK will also use the event to highlight its

enhanced support for installers. Toshiba Air Conditioning recently transformed its approach to equipment commissioning, warranty registration and training – to provide a simple and quick online system with major benefits for contractors and end-users. Online commissioning and warranty tools are now

fully integrated, with Toshiba Air Conditioning’s web- based training portal feeding into the same system and keeping all relevant information updated. “We wanted to keep things as simple as possible and bring everything together, because training, warranties and commissioning are so closely linked,’’ said Cameron Beech, DX & VRF Product Manager, TCUK. “We have created a logical, paper- free environment which is more environmentally responsible and accessible for all parties.’’ The automated system works for both direct and distribution customers, while end users can see all their equipment across multiple sites, together with maintenance records and warranty claims. Each customer has a single login to the

commissioning and warranty tool, with engineers linked to the account. Training data is automatically generated by the training portal, showing qualifications gained and expiry dates for each engineer. The dashboard shows pending and open warranty claims, the number of trained engineers and a list of sites. From here, the customer can add end user details,

site information and see eligible warranty levels before selecting the equipment. Once all items are chosen from the drop-down menus, a final page shows the complete equipment list for a project, together with downloadable warranty certificates to send to the end user.

year warranty is available to F-Gas registered engineers; the T7 Approved warranty requires successful completion of three mandatory Toshiba Air Conditioning training qualifications; and the T7 Enhanced warranty is open to businesses that are part of the REFCOM Elite scheme, which requires advanced quality assurance procedures. The event also provides an opportunity for Toshiba Air Conditioning to highlight recent enhancements to its popular installer incentive programme, Rewards, aimed at helping contractors grow their businesses. The scheme, which is open to direct customers

of TCUK and customers of Toshiba distributors and approved resellers, gives points for equipment purchases which can be redeemed for gift vouchers, tools, equipment and branded merchandise, and offers practical assistance to support business growth. Items can be selected and ordered directly via the

Rewards website, with dedicated accounts for each customer showing the current balance and order history.

The updated programme now features three

enhanced accredited partner tiers above the basic membership level, with Silver, Gold and Platinum accreditation reflecting the level of customer spend over a year. The tiered programme is designed to support

installers to build their businesses by incentivising progress through the levels, with each successive stage providing higher levels of support, technical training, and incentives. “We recognise the huge contribution our installers

make to our continued success,” continued David McSherry. “The enhanced Rewards scheme is designed to make it even more attractive, and help customers grow with us by rewarding their loyalty. As ever, Rewards offers a great range of shopping and gift options. However, for those looking to take their business to the next level, it also offers valuable practical assistance that could make a transformational difference. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand to see first-hand our exciting new product roll-outs and hear about the benefits of our enhanced installer support programmes.”
