Coating & Laminating
Canadian coating company, ETI Converting Equipment, showcase new adhesive technology at ICE 2019
printing equipment named Cohesio. Being an industry innovator, ETI patented technology increases your manufacturing process resulting in substantial raw material savings. The Cohesio can convert any type of

paper, board or film into self-adhesive material or labels using different adhesive technologies: standard hotmelt, UV curable hotmelt acrylic and water based emulsion adhesive. The machine can be offered with in-line printing capabilities. ETI will present at ICE a brand new ETI Hotmelt Pattern adhesive unit that was designed for easy, accurate and clean edge adhesive application in pattern with a high running speed of 500 fpm (150 m/min). Each label shape is adhesive coated by zone with a laser engraved sleeve cylinder, on the same principle as a
TI Converting Equipment is a Canadian manufacturer of in line silicone and adhesive coating and
flexo ‘sleeve’ cylinder. All label formats are covered by the various repeats. It opens new possibilities especially for
high grammage adhesive like tire labels or any other applications requiring a strong tack without risk of creep. Being able to target the zones to be adhesive coated and quickly and easily adjust the adhesive thickness ensures label manufacturers that the use of this unit is useful and cost- effective. It brings a solution to the pattern coating adhesive and allows an easy adjustment of the grammage from 7 to 43 lbs (10 to 65 gsm). As well as the Pellicut, heavy duty module for precise die-cutting will be shown. This unit includes a W-type anti- deflecting system to avoid pressure cutting variation and a die equaliser system to correct the thickness inconsistency of magnetic plate. This unit is fully servo-motorised and is equipped with a cassette system allowing quick
change of the die. This patented technology enables to die-cut with regular die down to .48 mil (18 microns) polyester film or 20lbs (30 gsm) SCK or glassine at a speed of up to 750 ft/min. (225 m/min.). For this application, the PET film liner represents a 40 per cent reduction in liner weight over industry standard. That translates into more labels per roll and less roll changes. The Pellicut is offered as a stand-alone unit or could be retrofitted to the Cohesio or to an existing servo label press. Visit us at ICE Europe Hall 5 booth 1542 and at ICE USA booth 745 to discuss all ETI’s innovations as Pattern Application, Linerless and Pellicut. ETI representatives will be more than happy to answer all questions about this manufacturing process and the company itself.
