TECHNICAL DATA: • Working width: 600/1.000 mm. • Max. diameter in unwinding: 800 mm. • Max. diameter in rewinding: 800 mm. • Speed: 500 mt/min.

Tape and board should be conditioned within the supplier’s stated limits before application, then assessed after the relevant dwell time and across the expected temperature and humidity transitions. Exact limits should come from the technical data for the tested construction, not from a generic storage range. The critical question is whether the closed pack remains stable through the complete production, storage and distribution profile.

MAKE THE RECYCLABILITY CLAIM MATCH THE EVIDENCE A paper backing or kraft appearance does not by itself demonstrate compatibility with a paper-recycling process. The complete construction, including adhesive, backing treatment, reinforcement, release coating and print, affects repulping, screening and potential macrosticky formation.

Where an INGEDE Method 12 result is cited, the tested construction, method and result should be stated. The assessment addresses the fragmentation and removability of an adhesive application under defined conditions; it should not be converted into an unqualified claim that every tape-and-carton combination is recyclable in every collection and mill system. Packaging-specific pulping and screening evidence, together with the intended waste route, may also be relevant. Material efficiency remains part of the same calculation. Matching adhesive performance, backing strength, width and layer count to the actual load can reduce unnecessary material without transferring risk to rework, line stoppages or failed shipments.

VALIDATION: TEST THE COMPLETE PACK Before changing a specification, define a controlled trial matrix covering the relevant board grades, print and coating variants, pack weight, flap tension, tape construction, application method, line settings and environmental limits. Keep tape length, overlap and application parameters consistent, use a defined sample size and agree acceptance criteria before the trial starts.

Record immediate wet-out, edge lift, flagging and placement, then inspect the closure again after the specified dwell, storage and handling sequence. If a pack fails, classify the failure before increasing the grade. Each failure mode, adhesive release, fibre tear, cohesive split, backing rupture, excessive stretch, misplacement or machine cut- off, requires a different corrective action.

The right tape is the construction that maintains closure across the defined board, process and distribution window with the lowest justified material use. A value on a technical data sheet becomes meaningful only when it is matched to the actual corrugate, sealing line and pack profile.
