Markets and technologies have changed dramatically over the past 30 years and the key to Gresham’s success has been to focus on what we do best – manufacturing defence power systems and distribution of OEM power supply products. Gresham have a global reputation for designing and manufacturing naval defence power solutions and in addition to supplying the Royal Navy, exports to customers in Australia, France, Spain, Korea and India. Our equipment is installed on surface and submarine vessels including the Type 23 Frigate and ongoing projects include the MARS Tenders, the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers (currently undergoing sea trials), the forthcoming Royal Navy Type 26 Frigate and the Australian Sea 5000 Future Frigate Programme. Key to Gresham’s success in this market has been our continued investment in new designs, maintaining the highest quality build standards and our support for

equipment supplied over 50 years ago which is still in service. We have also successfully navigated the Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) minefield to ensure our defence products are state of the art, competitive, fit for purpose and reliable.


Many of our designs distribute power with battery support. This theme of supporting critical on board functions such as emergency communications and lighting – often after all other sources of power have been lost – demonstrates the
