Murrelektronik – 40 years in the UK

t is now 40 years since German- born manufacturer Murrelektronik began trading in the UK, from the front room of a terraced
house in Greater Manchester, selling suppressors and relays. Since then, the company has grown on a global scale, to be one of the leading worldwide manufacturers in industrial automation equipment. This success is mirrored in the growth of the UK branch, still based in Swinton, Greater Manchester, but selling an impressive portfolio of compatible system components directly to customers and via an impressive online shop.
During this time, the underlying company philosophy has remained strongly customer centric – holding the belief that high-quality German- made products must be complemented with an unrivalled customer service, delivered by a team that understands the UK manufacturing industry. Technical Support Lead, Claire Palmer explains how the company has expanded whilst remaining true to its core values:

strengthened its specialist application support with Anderson Silva joining the Technical Team from Murrelektronik Brazil, bringing over 14 years of experience in industrial automation to UK customers. Palmer explains: “In the 40 years since Murrelektronik opened in the UK there has been dramatic changes in UK manufacturing. As factory processes become more and more digitalised with smart machines and cloud-based technology, it is clear that we needed to offer customers greater support with Industry 4.0 technologies, to make the integration of digital devices easier, quicker and future-proof and this is where Anderson’s experience can make the difference”.
