EVENT automatica 2022

Sustainable manufacturing, cobots, AI and a lot more take centre stage at this year’s automatica trade show

F

rom 21 to 24 June, automatica will open its doors in Munich, Germany, to a raft of exhibitors and visitors. The trade fair will bring together key technologies to the international scene – robotics, AI, sustainable manufacturing and a lot more. The show will offer an overview of global developments, topics, innovations and solutions, providing the necessary orientation and investment security in these unprecidented times.

Ro/cobots In the future, anyone will be able to operate robots without specialist skills. In cobots this has already been implemented with simple programming options – the straightforward integration and operation of these systems are key reasons for their popularity.

The market for robots and cobots is seeing considerable growth. In a recent interview, the Managing Director of the Danish company Universal Robots, Kim Povlsen, put the sales potential for cobots at around nine million units, taking the industry on a turnover trajectory of billions of Euros. Hence, it comes as no surprise that many manufacturers are looking to acquire cobots. automatica visitors will be able

to discover a lot more about robots and cobots at the show.

Visions of future robotics and AI The munich_i Hightech Summit is the supporting program highlight on the second day of the automatica show. Under the leadership of munich_i Directors Sami Haddadin and Alena Buyx, and under the auspices of Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder, leading international technology drivers along with pioneers from science and industry will present their innovations, findings and key trends regarding the future of robotics and

artificial intelligence (AI). Under the theme of ‘intelligence empowering tomorrow’, four sessions with four experts each will shed light on the central aspects of interaction between human and artificial intelligence, as well as the responsible technological change. The topics range from warehouse automation and deep learning approaches for smart robots to automated, AI-supported driving and ‘soft robotics’.

Sustainable production Sustainable production is good for the environment and profitable for companies. Various studies project savings generated by resource- conserving production technology – in the billions of Euros. automatica will discuss the best ways to tap into this potential.
