Interplas opens its doors again I
nterplas is the UK’s leading plastics event, bringing together the full range of technologies, materials and processes from across the
plastics industry. This year it take place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, UK, from 26-28 September 2023.
Celebrating 75 years of Interplas, the 2023 event will see over 500 exhibitors present their solutions, products, machines and ideas from across the entire spectrum of moulding and forming as well as materials, automation, contract manufacturing and supporting technologies, including software, testing, inspection, surface treatments, and more. Over 12,000 attendees are expected,
predominantly from the UK manufac- turing community, who will discover solutions for their project challenges, but also make business connections and source the latest technologies and innovations.
In addition to the exhibition, Interplas will also present a comprehensive conference programme, Interplas Insights, encompassing a wide range of themes important to the plastics industry today and the future. With over 40 sessions and more than 70

speakers, the conference promises to deliver a captivating lineup of sessions that will empower visitors with latest insights through thought-provoking presentations and dynamic panels.
Event highlights Highlights from this year’s programme include:
Digitalisation for sustainable manufacturing:
• The importance of Industry 4.0 in the UK plastics industry, by Jaguar Land Rover;
• Achieving sustainable plastic products with data-driven all-electric injection moulding, by Bloom in Box.
The road to net zero and circular economy:
• The way the industry is tackling the plastics pollution, by Plastic Bank;
• Top tips for plastics processors to achieve net zero, by Tangram Technology.
The future of UK plastics: • The ‘Big Debate’: Reshoring and contract manufacturing, by a panel in association with British Plastics;
• Innovations changing the polymer sector, by a panel in association with UK Circular Plastics Network and Innovate UK KTN. The show’s Introducing Stage will complement the Interplas Insights conference, providing further specialist look into the future of plastics technology and technical know-how. There will be a wide range of subjects covered from moulding and forming, materials, automation, software, testing, inspection, and more.
Networking and registration Throughout the event, attendees will get the opportunity to meet with influential speakers. To enhance the on-site networking, the official event app will offer personal recommendations using an AI-powered ‘matchmaking’ algorithm.
