Remote I/O Valve Terminal for Zone 1
W
hy are so many isolating switching amplifiers and pneumatic valve terminals still installed in large con-
trol cabinets to send intrinsically safe signals and pneu- matic drives from Ex zoned areas? The new concept for zoned areas is: Place small Remote
IO valve terminals distributed within a system instead of building central or large decentralized solutions. The aim is to collect the intrinsically safe signals on-site and to supply the pneumatic drives decentrally via short pneu- matic lines. From there, communication takes place direct- ly via PROFINET to the controller. Newly developed technologies from non-hazardous
areas are usually upgraded and certified for zoned areas with a time delay. In the case of products for Zone 2/22, this may happen very quickly. However, for devices for Zone 1/21, which also supply sensors from Zone 0/20, new and innovative products can usually only be implemented with considerable effort by the manufacturer.

ESAB launches high-performance, multi-process welding systems for extreme environments
F
or those who need enhanced multi-process welding capabilities and portability in harsh industrial environments, ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has intro-
duced its Aristo® 500ix inverter-based welding power source and Robust Feed Pulse and Robust Feed U6 wire feed systems. The Aristo 500ix provides outputs for MIG/MAG, flux cored, MMA and TIG welding, offering maximum output of 500A/39V at 60 percent duty cycle and a 100 percent duty cycle rating at 400A/39V. When paired with Robust Feed Pulse or U6, users can weld with solid wire up to 2.0 mm and cored wire up to 2.4 mm. These feeders offer a 50 mm dinse terminal on the back for connecting an MMA electrode holder, while the Robust Feed U6 also enables gouging from the wire feeder.

Foremost Electronics, the engineering-led Essex based importer and specialist distributor of electromechanical components
F
oremost Electronics, the engineer- ing-led Essex based importer and
specialist distributor of electro- mechanical components, has a wealth of experience supplying cabinets and components to the Water and Waste Treatment industry. Equipment enclosures and cabi-
nets require careful consideration in these markets and protection from dust and water alone is often not enough. Electromagnetic interference emitted by electric motors, power supply, relays, solenoids or power lines can interrupt the operation of critical electronic devices used for control and monitoring of water treatment processes. The nVent Schroff Varistar elec-
tronics cabinet platform provides an innovative solution for highly effective EMC shielding of 60 dB at 1 GHz and 40 dB at 3 GHz to ensure reliable, uninterrupted operation of electronic equipment. A wide range of options are available as well as tailored solutions, all with lead times guaranteed to keep projects on schedule. Standard features include, environmental protection up to IP 55, doors with 4point locking and screwfixed side
panels, static loadcarrying capacity to 800 kg and front, rear or base cable entry. Secure cable entry is required for control cabinets to ensure cabinet IP ratings are not compromised while combin-
ing ease of access when installing, commissioning or during upgrades or maintenance. The icotec KVT-ER split cable gland, available from Foremost, sets new standards in cable routing for cables with or
without preassembled connectors. The KVT-ER cable gland is liquid and dust proof to IP66/IP68, has a very robust hous- ing, is vibration resistant, easy-to-install and a cost-effective solution for cable routing, sealing and strain relief. It will also accept pneumatic or hydraulic lines and corrugated conduits. The icotec split gland system ensures retrofitting, repairs and maintenance are simple tasks to perform.

customers and the wider industry and appreciates that many steam boilers have been shut down during this period.
A So, when operations are ready to resume, businesses
need to make sure its boilers and steam systems are ready too and meet the Health & Safety* requirements and oper- ational demands required of its processes.
Fulton’s advice prior to restarting is that an initial
steam boiler and system assessment is undertaken to ensure that steam processes or manufacturing operations restart without risk to personnel or the business in general.
