elcome to the November issue of Electrical Engineeringmagazine. Thank you for your kind com- ments after I succumbed to the dreaded COVID virus; I’m back now feeling healthy and confident about where the sector is heading.


Over the last few days, I’ve seen many stories about new data centres that are opening in the UK, which


is such an opportunity as I’m sure this will bring more work to the sector. While the government has many challenges currently, it was encouraging that Rishi Sunak underlined a


higher wage and higher skills economy in this month’s budget. This issue contains many thought-provoking articles, and the largest focus is cabling and cable


management – I was also very interested to read the articles on electric vehicles; with sales of new petrol and diesel cars being banned in just nine years’ time, the sector really needs to brace itself for this sea change, We hope you find it informative.
