Altair UK heralds the success of its 13th

technology conference

UK Altair technology conference recently took place in the wonderful surroundings of the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire. Simon King reports from the event

The 13th J

amie Buchanan, Altair’s country manager, got the 13th UK Altair technology conference underway by giving delegates a warm welcome to the “UK’s leading showcase for digital design innovation”. Mr Buchanan said: “There’s great presentations from our customers and, hopefully, you’ll be able to take something from this event too, that you can take back to the office, and it will inspire you to deliver innovation and the products of the future.”

Altair is a global leader in computational intelligence, converging software and cloud solutions. There are three pillars to its technology portfolio, the physics simulation, through the Altair HyperWorks platform, data analytics and AI through the Altair RapidMiner platform, and high performance computing through the Altair HPCWorks platform. “Altair One is our Cloud Innovation Gateway, giving access to the platform tools through our Altair Units Licencing System,” Mr Buchanan said.

“The theme of this year’s conference is centred around digital technology as a catalyst for driving innovation. This theme will be prominent throughout the day through every presentations, where you’ll be seeing our software, hardware solutions, data, AI and machine learning technologies. The line-up of presentations gives a really diverse view on that across many different industries.” Mr Buchanan said that he hoped delegates would be inspired. “For the first time this year, we’ve added a tech drop-in zone, which is something that we have taken on board from feedback at previous events,” he said. “The tech team is going to be doing demos in the breaks and are able to answer technical questions. “We’re actually theming those technical drop-ins around the session that preceded them, so if you see something that you like in one of the presentations, you can go down there and find out more during the breaks.”

Mr Buchanan also referenced the event app, which was the first time Altair had used the app. “On the app, you’ll find information about the day information about the presenters, the presentations, the participants, and the exhibitors,” he said.
