“When I think of lasting impact, two situa- tions come to mind: who was there, and where it was. Playing at home, whether in Bucharest or Toronto, holds a special place due to my


deep connection to these


cities. Bucharest, my birthplace, inspired my three-part ‘Bucuresti’ series as a homage to my hometown. In Toronto, where I grew up, playing for friends who supported me from the beginning is magical. Their belief in me when no one else did is something for which I am eternally grateful, and it’s a joy to share my music with them every time I come home. I’m also automatically a little more nervous in both cities because of the emotional connection and although I always bring my A-game on stage, at home, there is no room for mistakes. The feeling is automatic. I can’t change that.”

“I love being a Mom, and my children are my everything. I cherish every moment with them, fully aware that their childhood is flee-


ting. It’s crucial for me to instil the values of dedication, focus, and pursuing dreams in my girls. I hope that seeing me doing what I


love, will empower them to understand these principles from a young age.”


“I avoid long tours; it’s always in and out, and there are rarely “extra days” to visit ci- ties and sights unless there’s a good friend I haven’t seen in ages. I prefer coming home to my children. As they grow older, this dynamic will inevitably change as they shape their own lives. For now, while they are still small, it feels “unfair” to work exactly during their free time. My commitment is to be present for them as much as possible and that means hand-pic- king my bookings with a strategy in mind. It’s all about quality over quantity at this point.”

Isabella is into Kung Fu, gymnastics, ba- llet, music, and visual arts. Rosie, on the other hand, possesses an incredible ear and effortlessly picks up songs, singing along in almost perfect pitch at the age of almost three—a talent I don’t and will never have.”


“Balancing these roles and responsibilities brings profound meaning to my life. I’ve been a firecracker for so long that now, with some unavoidable life lessons and the blessing that is Mother Ayahuasca, I’ve finally been able to settle down. A little bit. On most days I feel like an anomaly, but that’s also a good thing. I’m also still a firecracker. That will never change.”


As 2024 beckons, Simina teases fans with upcoming releases on We Are The Brave, OFF Recordings, Movement Records, Rave The Planet, and, of course, Kuukou. A collaboration with Kelli Ali adds another layer to this sonic journey, promising a year filled with musical revelations.


“I’m truly excited about 2024! There’s a lot in the pipeline, with upcoming releases on We Are The Brave, OFF Recordings, Movement Records, Rave The Planet, and Kuukou (which, if you didn’t know, translates to ‘Airport’ in Japanese).


I’m also currently working on a


collaboration with Kelli Ali of Sneaker Pimps, where she’ll be lending her incredible voice to one of my tracks. Being a fan of hers for so long, this opportunity is genuinely
