Fine arrows bring down the Castle
IN what could he claimed to be the match of the season, the quartet-final tie of the Mick P a t ten Cup th r ew together first division high f ly e rs Top Club and third d ivis ion runawav leaders Castle. A feast of top-class darts was
highlighted by the dash of Top Club's county star Andy Gud
geon and Castle’s Jim Keane. Jim took the first leg in 15 •darts, with Andy close at his
heels. The second leg proved crucial as Andy mi.-sed hull for a IG1. 12-dart finish, and did nut return to the board, Jim sinking his 1-lth dart into the winning double. Top Club recovered from the
setback, however, ami clinched the game at 5-2.
The two other tup clubs in
division one. Kings Arms A and Royal Oak A, joined
CCW.MC in the semi-finals by beating Judge Walmeslev anil Ribblesdale Wanderers, respectively. Low Moor Club’s defeat of

SABDEN went to the waste lands of Blackburn on safari. They hoped to return home with the biggest prize of this season’s hunt, but a momen tary lack o f concentration a l low ed the b ig game to escxtiH* their grasp. Like a hungry pack of wild
animals, the villagers rounded in on their kill but, while taking a rest before devouring it, the wilv scavenger nipped in and stole the game.

inspired, determined. Mill Hill St Peter’s led the
