A PICTURE of delight. . . Mr Richard Green wood (right), chairman of the Roefield Lei sure Centre Appeal, smiles as he accepts the latest donation towards tomorrow’s celebrity auction in aid of the appeal, from Clitheroe shopkeeper Mr Peter Favell (left).
Helen, who own Favell’s Art and Design Shop in King Lane, decided to con tribute two framed, signed prints of Clitheroe Castle and Pendle Hill. The fine pencil sketches are by Waddington artist James Warburton (24), shown centre of our picture.
“Now the auction has it all! We have showbiz and s p o r t in g c o n t r ib u tions . . . and now we have culture as well. There will be over 100 lots on offer, any of which would make a wonderful Christmas pres ent for the person who has everything.”
Mr Greenwood said: Lots include an auto
graphed football shirt from Bryan Robson, a photo graph from Sue Lawley, a book from Jeffrey Archer and a tr ip in a traffic helicopter^. The auction takes place
• Susan Lewellin, of Clith- eroe’s West End Stores, Woone Lane.
“We are hoping to top the £1,000 maPk, because so many people have put in a lot of work for the event and been so generous.” The auction has been organised by Rodney and
at Clitheroe Conservative Club at 7-30 p.m., follow ing viewing at 7 p.m. Mr- Greenwood said:
Sunday School is popular
began this month after parents in new housing at Tosside suggested the idea. Eight children aged four to nine are'attending and are looked after by Mrs Vera Newhouse and Mrs Marion Penny, as well as by some mums.
TOSSIDE’S new Sunday School is proving popular, but there is room for more children, reports the vicar, the Rev. Les Austin. The Sunday School
