A FORMER teacher at Stonyhurst College, Coun. Pat Shepherd, is to be the next Mayor of Clitheroe. Coun. Shepherd, who was born in Kent, retired two-and-a-half years ago,
after teaching geography and engineering and technical drawing at Stony hurst for 20 years. Shortly after his retirement, Coun. Shepherd was elected to the Clitheroe
and Ribble Valley councils. He had been a parish councilllor in Hurst Green some years before. He and his wife, Mary, who is to be the Mayoress, live in Park Avenue in the
town and have a grown-up family. The deputy Mayor is to be Coun. Barrie Parker (49), of Fairfield Drive,
